Spring Lake is a small village situated in Ottawa County, Michigan, United States. In 1837, a mill was built in the area by Captain Benjamin Hopkins and it was known as “Hopkins Mill.” In May 1851, a post office was formed with the name “Mill Point.” In May 1867, it was renamed “Spring Lake.” The village was incorporated in 1869.
